It's oldschool.dspt.info and it's up. It could have been down when you tried? It is occasionally down, most likely would be during US working day hours or middle of the night.

NIN certainly go boom in dynamis, at least on classic (oldschool) server.

We've wiped on SMN avatars astral flow in dynamis, too.

Are the AH and roster pages down? I don't think I've seen them working since the recent server outage.

Have you tried mounting the vmdk on your host os?

VDDK has vmware-mount.exe that can mount .vmdk files. I have no idea how it would handle corrupt disk images, though.

Look for Caradog's posts. S/he packages it [XI View] up nicely for easy use.

Caution: If there's a FFXI client update, having an outdated XI View patch applied can cause client crashes.
