I ran through the quest with Alys and my alt character on a little while ago (revision 2103) and everything functioned correctly.

Ran through Legendary Plan B and The All New C-3000 today. Legendary Plan B works just fine. The All New C-3000 works fine also, and you get the 600 gil reward at the end.
