hi all, i currently had a FFXI server running on a win7 VM, and to save on the overheads of win7, i decided to make a winxp vm with ffxi on. (I did try linux but due to script errors i had to abandon this idea). Anyway... im gettting the FFXI-3001 error and the server producing the IncreaseZoneCounter.
At first i thought it was because i imported my sql tables from my win7 VM and something went wrong, so i started again but still iget the same errors.
Any ideas? ZoneIP is correct, dont know what else to check for...
Setup is local network, using WAN ip for connection and zoneip. FFXI server running on winxp 32bit VM on different pc to what i run the client on.
Ports : TCP/UDP Open : 54230-54231, TCP Open : 54001-54002
Been doing my nut in for a couple of weeks now.... Any suggestions, had a quick search, nothing relating to my issues....
Here is the GameServer window.

FFXI-3001 & IncreaseZoneCounter Errors , dont get it :D
Re: FFXI-3001 & IncreaseZoneCounter Errors , dont get it :D
First thing i would check would be that, from the outside of your network, that you can connect to the open ports. is your setup something like this:
MODEM->ROUTER->PC->VM? if so, just make sure that you can hit the VM on those ports from outside of your network.
one other thing that I had to do, was to download the the newest version off ffxi-boot_mod3 from here:
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=503
point it to your internal ip and add --hairpin
Hope that helps.

Re: FFXI-3001 & IncreaseZoneCounter Errors , dont get it :D
ok, firstly ports are open (54001,54002,54230,54231)
Tried the Ashita client, works fine from a dos bat file using --hairpin, but doesnt work if i use the gui and specify the --hairpin. But its working, which is good. Only works on Local IP not Remote.. same issue when using remote ip.
Tried MXI client on DS Test Server, works fine... Tried MXI client on my local ip, didnt work. same issue.
I prefer the mxi client, as i dont seem to be able to get extensions working with ashita.
Any other suggestions?
