I just installed Darkstar last night from Github, so it should be current, and I used the Check Files trick to update FFXI. I last successfully connected to the official servers sometime in November. Pol and Ashita should be current. I'm launching Ashita as an Administrator, I'm running Windows 7, and using --server 127.0.0.1 --hairpin. I get a white screen and "pol.exe has stopped working".
Before updating my FFXI client, I was able to get far enough into the game to see part of the intro screen, and get a message that said my client was out of date. I'm wondering now if I updated to a version beyond what Darkstar supports, and if that's the case, how do I downgrade to the right version? I followed the steps on the wiki to update my client, but maybe the wiki is out of date, too.

darkstar always supports the most recent retail version (because you updated from retail's servers)
