Hi and hello everyone, because it takes ages to update a fresh installed FFXI client to the newest version i decided to make my own patch.
It contains only files which got an update or are new so the size is really small compared with an complete client backup.
I will update this thread with the latest version of the patch as fast as i can as soon SE releases it.
Also all older versions of the updates will still be downloadable if anyone needs them for any reason.

How to Install: Extract the "PlayOnline" folder to your hard drive and overwrite your existing one where you have installed FFXI.
Usually its "C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\" so put the "PlayOnline" folder from the archive into "C:\Program Files (x86)\"
and let it overwrite all existing folders and files.
After that start PlayOnlineViewer and perform a file check on FFXI. (Only for playing on retail servers, but correct me if thats wrong)
Its the best to delete ...\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\0\0.DAT before you do the filecheck but
check How to Force-Update your client in 5 steps for further instructions if you dont know what you have to do!

Important: This patch is made for a complete installation of the FFXI Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition.
I cant guarantee that it works with older versions and without having all expansions installed!

I had to create a forum account to say two Things:

For any fellow veterans of the game looking to avoid lengthy update times in the client, I can confirm that this method DOES WORK as of this post! The repair process took only 22 minutes (1218 files) VS waiting 6+ hours for the FFXI update process.

Also, I kept getting the POL-0250 error regarding Network Connection before I tried this method, even though there is nothing wrong with my connection. When this happens it can be quite frustrating because you have to start the whole update process over. There is an option when you first start the PlayOnline viewer called "Network Settings." Go to that menu and Enable the first option for "Check Connection" (I think it recommends for this to be Disabled) and that fixed any Network errors for me.

I have been fooling around with this game all day and I am finally able to play after having issues with Steam CD key, having to reinstall client, update issues, you name it. Thank you so much for the upload of these files! And for that 5-step guide link showing how to force the Repair process!

Dummy question, but got curious... the last client update work with adoulin, right?

It "works" with adoulin, but most of the server's adoulin stuff doesn't exist, so adoulin won't work until those parts of the server are implemented (example: Geo, RUN, the entire continent, the missions, quests, spells, etc)
