Fenix is now running all zones on their own instance! This means that if one zone goes down because of a crash, NO other zone goes down. And since it has to load less to launch it, this means the zone restart upon such a crash is only a few seconds. Thank you Lagian for making this possible!

Re: Fenix - Beta Relaunch starting now!
I have some updates for everyone!
- Exp rate is now 3.5x.
- We have a website in beta that shows online members, auction house stock, and our custom modded item stats:https://status.fenix-xi.com/
- We are actively working on a completely new storyline dungeon. Here's some teaser videos. We hope to have a alpha test server opened up to the public for this by the end of the month!
- Also in the works: the mythic quest! We're closer than ever to making this happen, and we're very excited to roll it out.
- During our platform upgrade, we dealt with some pretty horrific lag issues. We have located the problem and corrected it! No more lag! It complements our almost non-existent crashes.
- We have brought on two new Community Managers (CMs) - Wadski and Volkov! They're working tirelessly to report bugs and submit fixes, along with keeping the player base happy and events running!
- Our head admin Lagian has submitted way too many fixes to list. We have things working on Fenix that not a lot of servers have fixed! Our server stability since relaunch has massively improved, and our help desk ticket system is almost bored! Most of our fixes are listed here. Game-breaking issues are a thing of the past!
- We've done further tweaking to weapon skills that some players were unhappy with, and we've received some great feedback.
- Claustrum got a couple more buffs. You can see them on our website.
- Force spawned HNMs now function.
- Dynamis has had a huge overhaul and is running as smooth as butter. We continue to work to make it even better. (Almost done automating the Ancient Currency duplication process!)
Fenix is a well-oiled machine these days - all we're missing is you! Come join the fun!

This looks like another server where you can buy every item off of the auction house for 2 gil and don't have to put any effort into crafting to get to end game content. Is it? There are so few servers with crafting that just give handouts to their playerbase and don't have them work for anything they own. It's a shame, really. I really want to like Fenix. It has some neat ideas going for it, but I can't get over that.
"Encouraging" crafting is nice, but when you have 85% of craftables stocked for a pittance, it really makes the effort of going from 1-100 crafting a chore and not really worthwhile when it only unlocks a handful of crafting recipes that are 'pretty good' or sought after.

Here at Fenix, we still consider ourselves a relatively "new" private server, but we're growing up, and times are changing! We have an amazing development team now, some great GMs, and our CMs are rockin' their world too. We're on the DSP server list now, and we feel like we've grown exponentially (because we have!). We have a policies, procedures, rules, regulations. We’re big kids now!
So what comes next? We feel it's now time for a much-needed shift. As a new server, we focused on getting players in, getting our name out there, and providing a fast experience for people to re-live nostalgia quickly without the grind. But as we grow into this established, professional server, it is time for a move we've always looked forward to since the server started.
In the coming months, you're going to see us pursue a vision of permanence, of long-term. The Fenix experience is going to morph into something that will hold your attention for months, or even years, rather than weeks or days. Most of us have played this game for 10 or more years, and while that is almost too much (what can we say? we're fans), we want to emulate the special place in our hearts that FFXI has for us, with Fenix.
While the details are still in the works, we just wanted to give you a heads up to expect some exciting shifts. We’re working hard on implementation, and will keep you updated every step of the way when new content is rolling out. We’re so glad you’re on this journey with us. Step one of our plan for renewed longevity and player retention is an economy! This gives players more goals, more things to do, more content to work on. We are letting YOU (the players) build and shape how you want the economy to go. Everyone will be at the same level to start, and how you work your way up to riches is up to you!
Some of the auction house and shops are already stocked to give you a head start, but as the economy grows and evolves, we may remove the pre-stocked items as players gain a foothold in driving sales themselves.

Here’s the details:
- Starting character gil reduced to 10 gil.
- New players (main characters only) will receive 10,000 gil upon registration.
- For a limited time, new registrations will receive double the amount (20k!) for our Fenix Economy Kickoff Promotion!
- Starting character inventory size is now automatically at maximum (80).
- (We hope to do this for existing characters too, but it has caused issues in the past with deleting items so we are waiting to do some testing.)
- Current (existing) player gil changed to 50k.
- Small gil drops have been added to monsters (scales with level).
- Crafting materials have been purged from existing inventories. This is so that no one player has a huge advantage over others right off the bat.
- If an item we didn’t purge upsets the market in an undesirable way, it may be purged later as well, along with any gil made from it. A brand new economy is fragile, and we want this to go well for all players!
- Auction House updated and stocked with prices matching a 2008 retail server economy. Only certain consumable items are stocked.
- Custom Fenix NPCs and @ shop prices also adjusted to 2008 standards.
- Gobbiebag items removed from Creepstix.
- Dynamis timer has been re-implemented to reflect this new server vision and focus.
- Crystal cluster drops have been placed back on the mobs
- Enmity scale factoring has been adjusted to better reflect retail values when damaging enemies.
- We are working hard on Treasures of Aht Urhgan! Fenix is close to having an end-to-end ToAU story.
- The Fenix Custom Dungeon is rolling right along! Core functions and framework has been implemented, and we’re working on design now!

Hey guys! We're making some changes to our server transfer application on Friday!
The app now: 3 75s, 5 37s, 15 rare/ex items, 2 relics, 1 main craft and 2 sub crafts.
The app starting Friday March 10th: 1 75, 3 37s, 1 relic, 2 capped combat/magic skills (3 if you’ve liked this page!) and your choice of: 10 rare/ex items, OR 5 rare/ex items and nation mission rank progress from your chosen character!
As always, proof of some sort must be presented that you had these items on a previous server. We’re also going to change the name, since it’s not a true “transfer”. We’re thinking something like “Character Boost”, but that may change.
If you haven’t done a transfer yet and want the current one, be sure to submit it before Friday! It will change at some point during the day. All current apps will continue to process as they are unless otherwise requested or already partially done. PM us if you have any questions!
