New to this, but mXI Windower crashing.

Post by xMudkips » Sun Aug 26, 2012 9:52 am

The server and regular client work perfect, already checked it out but not for long. I registered on the forums to check out if there was a way to play this Windowed and from what I read, there is.

However mXI doesn't work for me, at least not so far. I've tried setting the Windower Mode to 2 and tried changing it back to 1 and then disabling all addons. Any help greatly appreciated.

Also if it means anything, I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit

Edit: I am booting it up through the fxi-boot with the basic FFXI windowed option and it works fine. Would like to be able to use the addons from mXI so if anyone knows what the problem could be please let me know.

That doesn't help any, it isn't a resolution problem at all. It just crashes, brings up the window that FFXI should be in and immediately says that it crashed.

Did you unpack mXI into the same folder as the FFXI client? It actually hates that, to the tune of "crashes every time."

I did have in it's own folder, and then afterwords I moved it into the folder. Same results lol, and on a further note the game itself when launched from fxi-boot.exe crashes as it goes to log into the server on my finance's laptop. I've changed her settings for resolutions and all of that jazz.

Again, I have no problems launches and connecting to the server via fxi-boot but her's does.

Tried, and it said she already has a newer version lol. We up and decided to just delete it all and reinstall/download overnight. So on the note of hers not working, I'll update on that tomorrow morning. My mXI however is not working yet, perhaps it won't work for me at all lol.

Regular boot is working for both of us, after the server maintenance/update that is happening I'll try out mXI one more time to see if I can't get it to work.

I've been having problems trying to get the mXI windower running too. Got the game running fullscreen loading with ffxi-boot.exe but mXI never launches. I want to use mXI for the windower add-ons as well as being able to look at the game code as I'm testing things out. Is there something I need to do set-up wise to get it working?
