FFXI-3001 Error, but after over 20 tries

Post by Ean » Mon Oct 29, 2012 6:02 pm

Hello everyone,

I know the FFXI-3001 Error Code has been mentioned several times, and even has several troubleshooting tips. So let me run this down ^_^;

So created the server as bluekirby0 & thrydwolf explained in the wiki very close to the wording. No extra modifications nothing. Everything went off smoothly all the way up to character creation.
I set this up in a local network, though used external IP's so I could invite friends to play. I tested this with my laptop from a neighbors house so it does see the server and connect.

Using FFXI-Boot btw

So even on the home network I'm unable to get past character creation. I keep looping to downloading data, FFXI-3001 code (did get a 3101 code only once).

SO, logged out gracefully, and tried again. after about 15 times, Still no luck. I checked the server messages, and i get [Status] lobbydata_parse: client (ip addy) finished work with lobbyview

on the client side same error.

Any suggestions? Any help would be very appreciated ^_^

idk why, but sometimes characters get stuck in that downloading data after creation.

Usually waiting a few mins then trying again works.

That could be your issue but idk any of the technical stuff behind why it happens.

One of the new characters I made got perma stuck like that before also,

I deleted the character. Made a new one, then when it got to the downloading data stuck part.

I closed the game and waited 5 minutes to log on and everything worked perfect.

I think if you keep trying to log on something gets borked.

This thread might have some useful info, they say something about not being able to run client and server on same network?

It's all beyond me but thread might help

Ran into a different issue now :-/ every time i zone, I get d/ced,

no errors at all on any of the servers, only the mapcount (since it's localhost) goes down to [0]

Common issue when running the server on the same computer as the client. I'm not familiar with why it happens, but I've seen it brought up before.

The usual dev solution is "stop doing that."

"The server is not designed to run on the same system as the client"

I don't know how many times i've said that so far >.>
