Wrong NPCs Displayed
Wrong NPCs Displayed
I'm on r3560 (slowly updated from r3525) and currently in norg where all NPCs are either Orcish Overlords, invisible or naked long-haired blonde humes.
Any ideas? Thanks.

The picture was taken in my iMac server. I updated to 3560 on my laptop and I didn't encounter the issue. Both are on the same FFXI client version (verified by writting down the Ver. in Check Files).

Re: Wrong NPCs Displayed
Is your iMac server by any chance PPC Architecture? Could be caused by BE/LE differences.
Re: Wrong NPCs Displayed
It's an Intel iMac. So far my guess is that I broke the FFXI installation. The only thing I recently installed (two days ago) was the FFXIV beta. Will try copying the Final Fantasy XI folder from my laptop over to the iMac...
Edit: Both machines (iMac and laptop) are running the server and the client. I use the laptop to update for testing purposes. I play on the iMac.

Copied Final Fantasy XI folder from my laptop to my iMac. Went to POL, selected Check Files then File Repair. Logged back in the server, Wrong NPCs still there.
Edit: Tried connecting to my laptop's server using iMac as the client. Norg looks exactly as it should be. So the problem is not the client and is somewhere in the my dsp folder in the iMac?

Now both my iMac and laptop are suffering from the same effect. lol The game server started crashing, dropped database, ran the backup dump sql file and same issue.

Re: Wrong NPCs Displayed
Problem fixed. Redoing the whole database off a dump file with the complete database cause the problem. Either the dump file had a broken npc_list table, or the whole file was broken. If there is a stupidity badge in this forum, I nominate myself.

Re: Wrong NPCs Displayed
Ehh, I'd like to find out what originally caused all of this if possible because it may not be entirely your fault.
Re: Wrong NPCs Displayed
Hope this helps. In my laptop, I had updated to r3560. When everything was working well, I went to Navicat. Right clicked on the database and selected to dump the database into a sql file. Then in my iMac, I udpated to r3560. Using Navicat, dropped the database, created a new one, and ran the sql file I dumped in my laptop. That's when I started seeing the wrong NPCs in Norg.
In my laptop, Norg looked like it should, but not in my iMac. So in my laptop, I dropped the database, created a new one, and ran the sql file I dumped. The error started occuring in my laptop. I figured it had to do with the database, so I ran the npc_list.sql from source. That fixed my issue. Ran it in my iMac, fixed the issue as well.

Re: Wrong NPCs Displayed
Sounds like it was an old issue that was already corrected and your sql was just out of date.
