Error FFXI-3322 When trying to create character on own serve

Post by Minipilen » Fri Aug 24, 2012 2:19 am

Hey!

Like the subject says. I'm getting error FFXI-3322 when trying to create a character on private server.

I've followed the guide and read through it twice. I have done exactly like it says and it still says FFXI-3322.

The machine I'm installing the software on is a VMWare machine with a bridged connection (connected directly to the network). It's a 64bit version of Windows 7 and I get no error in Visual Studio when creating the exe's.

I've tried following solutions:

** Tried starting the exe's with and without "Run as admin"
** Tried creating the exe's with and without "Rund as admin"
** Tried connecting through both laptop and desktop, same error on both
** Tried recreating the database using the DSP_Import. Same error.

The machine does not have anti-malware, anti-virus or firewall enabled and I can connect to the server without any errors.

Here's also the output from the server logs when I'm trying to connect and create the character:

login-server.log:

 =======================================================================
Also worth mentioning is that there's nothing wrong with the installation of FFXI on both the laptop or the desktop because I play on Azure Sky and I have copied the data folder into the FFXI folder.

I'm running out of options to try. Does anyone have any idea on where to go from here? I'd rather not install the server on my main computer because I like to keep it as clean as possible and nice to be able to take copies of the server using virtual machines. :P

Thanks!

Running a Win XP VM under VirtualBox using a Bridged adapter on Win 7 Home 64-bit as well, so that part shouldn't be an issue for you.

Not seeing any activity on game_server from the creation attempt, but I can't remember if you would anyway.

Be sure you're not trying to use a name that might be reserved. The client cock-blocks those without even asking the server.

Is it the same install you're using for both servers, and just changing the connection data in your client.ini?

Btw,

If there's a way to create the char manually that would work too. I just need to get the server working to be able to try out quests and script.

Kinda stuck when I can't try the scripts on my own server before I post them on the forum :?

Yeah it's the same install and just changing the connection info. Maybe that could be the problem. I figured that it's the same install and I just point to another server.

The same install shouldn't be causing the problem. I'm not as experienced with 3322 as the actual developers, so I made a wild grasp at straws that you were using a different install. Typically FFXI-3322 comes up when the client wasn't updated properly, but if it works for one, why not the other?

If your zoneip in the database is correct, and the SQL login data was changed for both servers in the conf files, then the only thing I can think of is client issues. I'm not sure beyond that, personally.

Hmm..

Wait a minute here. I think you just pinpointed the problem. I thought that the ZoneIP was just needed if you were gonna run the mapserver on a different server. That point i've missed.

Damn what a noob mistake >____<''

Okay it wans't the ZoneIP fix xD

I ran the command in Navicat:

UPDATE zone_settings SET zoneip = '1677830336';

Which is the IP for 192.168.1.100 and 256 rows were affected and still FFXI-3322. I'm gonna try installing the server software on a 32bit XP instead to see if the problem still persits.

I got the same problem with the XP server.

I'm gonna try to do a file repair on my game to see if it helps. Seems a bit odd. Prolly the game is broken xD

Btw what is the Data folder's function? Could that folder be broken too?

Allright!

Feels like I'm spamming the forums but I've solved the problem. mXI windower was the problem. Dunno if it's the plugins or just the program itself but when i used FFXI-Boot I could create the char without any problems.

Thanks for the replies!

Might be LightLuggage. I forget what it does if you connect to a vanilla server, but there's some code that specifically blocks it. I always assumed the packets drove the server nuts at the time, anyway.

game_server.conf to disable the block, or init.txt to disable LightLuggage :)
