Deprecated Darkstar fourms

I first heard about private servers for FFXI on March 27th, and I decided to install and update on that day. So now I am experiencing client crashing when I attack and when I get attacked, and I cannot use any Job abilities.

Reading through these forums as well as some advice I received in-game, I decided I would try and uninstall my current client. I also downloaded using bittorrent what was claimed to be the patch and update files for FFXI up to and including the 12-12-12 update.

I install FFXI using my FFXI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition that I downloaded long ago, I then copy+paste the update files from the bittorrent file.

I read another topic on these forums about an update to Ashita yesterday (to make it compatible to the new FFXI expansion) that made it unable to be used with the pre-March 27th Client. So I tried using my old Ashita that I had downloaded and updated on the 27th. I run Ashita as Admin, then launch the file to connect to the server, and it works fine until it reaches the line "Sending Account ID....." then Ashita just closes.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

honestly, my suggestion is to just wait a few days for adoulin to get merged back into trunk

Well, reinstalling FFXI isn't too hard, doesn't take long either.

But I guess I can just continue to DoT-Nuke-KITE NMs and keel worms on BLM until then.

no, but there's not really any guarantee that it's gonna work, either
