Problems with Client

Hello all!

I am having troubles with being able to log onto a server with my client,

I went ahead and followed the steps provided here: http://kile.dyndns.info:8765/index.php? ... our_Client

I used this copy to install FFXI

Code: Select all

http://kat.ph/final-fantasy-xi-ultimate-collection-abyssea-edition-t6606378.html
After following all the steps, I go to start up with ffxi boot, it boots up goes through connecting to the server, I click on create character, and it brings up the Hume create page (Basically the page to select the race) and it freezes, I thought this was due to the fact of my server setup, maybe I set it up wrong, so I tried to access other FFXI test servers, all ended with the same result, freezing on the character creation screen, I have done it about dozen times, and still get this freeze result? so than I thought it must have been my install, so over the past 5 or so days I have been reinstalling, doing the update, etc over and over, and I still have the same result when I try to connect, freezes at the Hume screen?

So I was wondering if anyone knows what I am doing wrong? I'm sure it must be something small? thanks for any help.

GIB.

This is a new problem, is your graphic driver the most recent?

Yes, it is the mobil intel 965 chipset, (Dell Laptop) nothing fancy, used to run FFXI on it on the siren server, and had no problems.

As much as I hate to blame it on the gfx chip in this case, there ARE a lot of people who have issues with intel chips.

On the plus side, since it freezes right there, you could try checking the box for simplified character creation visuals in the ffxi config program and see if it can work around the issue.
