Hairpinning
Hairpinning
First time listener long time caller here XD. I been ripping the last few strands of my balding head trying to get and internal pc to connect to my server. External works and I tested all the ports at www.canyouseeme.org and there all open. I think I read all the post here and I am pretty sure the Bluekirby0 has a client the works but the link is dead so I am unable to download it. Does anyone know if that file is available else where. My thanks in advance also thanks for all the hard work you guys do and I am hoping in the future to be able to contribute not off to a good start can't even figure this out but maybe I can do something in the future

Re: Hairpinning
i'm sorry, which files are you looking for?
Re: Hairpinning
Thanks for responding. I guess the file would have been helpful. It was this FFXI-Boot_Mod 3: http://kile.dyndns.info:8765/bak/ffxi-boot_mod_3.zip not sure if is me or if the site is down but I am unable to get to it from chrome, IE, Safri or FF. I know it is something I am screwing up that site is also suppose to have a guide about setting up hairpin. Thanks again for your response.

I don't have a link to that file, but I do have a link to Ashita_Darkstar which contains ffxi-boot_mod; it is the one I am using and works good.
You can download it from here;
http://forums.dspt.info/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=503
when you download it, follow these steps;
1. launch Ashita.exe (launch as admin if on 7 or 8)
2. click updates
3. click update all files
4. change the boot command to this, replace info --server 192.168.0.110 --user USERNAME --pass PASSWORD
5. click save config
6. click lauch
hope this helps

Re: Hairpinning
still can't get it to work. If I change my game server ip back to local it will work just can't get it to work when I make it external and then try to connect internal. Others can connect external. I am thinking I must have missed something on my router going to dig around there again. Thanks again

Re: Hairpinning
just an off the wall question...
When you set your server to be external, on the local client are u using the internal or external ip....
If you have only being using the internal ip on the client, could you try using the external one and see if that makes a difference....
If you have already tried this, I am sorry I am out of answers as my server is local only... But, I will do some searching and see if I can find any answers for you...
edit;
did some diging and this is what I found hope it helps....

edit2;
if you are running the server on the same machine as the server, try virtual boxing the server; I have been doing this for a while and it seems to work okay... I only mention this because whasf has said the server wasn't designed to run on same machine as client...

Re: Hairpinning
I am logging in from another machine and just can't get it to work for some reason or another. I tried all the suggestions so I am thinking it is something specific to the way my network is set up. I am going to dig around more. Its not like I don't have a million things to do on the server anyways XD
