download data problem...zoneip issue need help

Hello
Having a bit of trouble here im trying to open my server up so my friend can play with me. I can access everything fine using the loopback ip no problems there. I have tried using my internal ip but the when I change it in the config it just says cant open my sql. Whwn I use my external ip my friend can connect but it just sits at downloading data sceen after charater creation. Now im tring to use hamachi, I have looked at the forum and it says people have done it and I had done it myself about a year ago but for the life of me it wont work and all the links on the fourm at dead. I have tried using the hamachi ip but the server would not even start hahah. Im starting to lose my mind any help would be great.

that is not the IP of the server, that's the IP of your sql server. you're looking for the zoneip column in zone_settings table

I am changing both to the ip that I use so I am chaning it in the zoneip setting and the config file is there something else im ment to be doing or not doing??

Unless you have specially configured MySQL to listen on your Hamachi interface, it won't work. MySQL only listens on localhost by default for security reasons, so set it back to localhost in the config file and make sure zone_settings is set to your Hamachi interface.
