Using Navicat

When using this program i still have issues backing up char.sql and account.sql, I know the basics of updating and everything else from when i build my server every day from new revisions that get added in. But the issue i have alot is if i backup those 2 sql files correctly. I use Navicat current and can open all my files from my account fine just cant find tuts anywhere that can point me in the right direction for when there are updates for those files and don't want to lose any date from other ppl's accounts and such. i use Skype and Steam alot so if anyone with better knowledge then me doesn't mind helping me out id really appreciate it, and ty
