connection settings

Post by dudeomg » Mon Jan 06, 2014 10:43 pm

Is there anyway to set a server up on a local network to be public but still be able to connect to it locally with the computers on the network?

Also, when the zoneip is set to the local server ip I can log in fine from my local pc but my external friend gets hung up at downloading data. When the zoneip is set to the external ip of our network then he can connect and I can login but i get R0 immediately and this error spams in the map_server log:

[21:28:16][1;31m[Error][0m map_encipher_packet: bad packet from <192.168.1.blah blah>

Sorry for being problematic on you guys, you are all of great help.

Thank you!

use the --hairpin option (search "--hairpin" on the forums here for more posts about it)
