Xiloader closes with dgVoodoo

Someone in my discord group says he has it working with xiloader.
I have the latest Xiloader. When i startup xiloader and login it closes with "Closing..." in red. If I delete the D3D8.dll file from the POL folder xiloader just starts fine after logging in and boots up FFXI. dgVoodoo with D3D8.dll boots FFXI fine on the official retail servers and does work.

Any ideas why xiloader closes with dgVoodoo?
