decide to play ffxi once more and got my server all set up, I am able to connect to my server from the same comp that the server is running on, but cant connect with another comp on the same network, yes i have set the ip in the db, so to check if it was my server or not i decided to try out some public servers and I still cant connect in i tried the first 4 from the list here https://wiki.dspt.info/index.php/DarkStar_Servers
so on to the details of what the client is doing, xiloader will connect to the login and then log in and then close.
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer>xiloader --server 10.1.10.66 --user xxx --pass xxx

and i have went through updateing, copping data folder, unarchiving ffxi-updatepatch.
now one thing i noticed is this Go into Playonline and check files on FFXI (its version should be undefined) even after updateing i still get undefined. ( and yes it has downloaded and patched 6k worth of files. )
ohh and i have even done the force file check. (Tried deleting 0.dat)
so what is going on ??

Re: client cant connect
Fixed, client install was getting corrupted during install, took an install off my main client, and zipped and copied it over and all is fine now.
