Deprecated Darkstar fourms

I've been attempting to get into various servers, and keep running into this issue when the game launches. I've tried a complete uninstallation of FFXI and reinstalled a fresh copy with all expansions and updates and then followed the wiki guide perfectly.

I had no issues setting up and joining the Nasomi server earlier, but the style of play is just too slow, needed something a bit quicker and my attention was drawn to LM and/or Exodus; both of which I've attempted to access only to be met with the '3331' error.

Any suggestions on what I could possibly be doing wrong?

Edit: Looks like I was simply attempting to sign into servers that hadn't updated since the retail update that came out the other day.

This is happening to me, also, on BNET and Fenix server, as well as Legion. I think Legion has locked the server until tomorrow, but I'm assuming I'm not able to connect to any Dark Star server. Really baffled by this.

If you get 'your game client is out of date', it's also caused by your client being too new. Theoretically it could work, but I got tired of people posting bugs because their server was too slow to update. Posting about the error is much preferred, since I don't try to track down non-existing bugs

Ahh, ok, just like Kaddis mentioned. I thought BNET was updated to the newest patch but maybe not. I'll give it a little time, thanks kj.

If you do the File Check now it will download the newest update that was on April 5th. Thus possibly making your data "too new" as Kj posted.
I'm guessing the DSP needs to be updated for the April update.
I'm getting the same error after installing the server on 2nd PC and installing/updating game on main PC last night.

if your server's been updated in the last 10 or so hours then you should be able to log in now

@Demolish you are correct. I had to rebuild in VS with the master build and now I can play

Stable does not have the version update though.

I'm having the same issue, i tried both sources and still get the error. The Login server is giving me this.

[20/Apr 20:44][1;31m[Error][0m lobbyview_parse: Incorrect client version: got 301603xx_x, expected 999999xx_x

99999999_9 is the default if version.info can't be read - you probably deleted it or moved it or something
