Re: The New Retail Update Crashes Client Side
I assume dia's fix is to be applied server-side, so should players now update via POL to the latest release and not apply any additional "fixes"?
Re: The New Retail Update Crashes Client Side
Yes you can just use a clean updated client now.

1) download the 22 files from snakes November backup https://www.dropbox.com/s/jo4nywfz7w65kzb/readme.txt
i did this yesterday followed the readme text and it work for sure, but i can only test it to a r2179 local server. 2180~2189 i cannot fix so. everything went fast. uninstalled ff11 completely then re-installed with all upgrades.
Thank you very much for sharing your work guys, I appreciate all of it.

Re: The New Retail Update Crashes Client Side
NPCs are all fixed up now...that should take care of a lot of issues...but I fixed them by hand so if I made an error somewhere (likely) please let me know!

omg, it feels like we're back on trac finally. Thank you dev team, now fun time starts again.
Re: The New Retail Update Crashes Client Side
If anyone is wondering why NPCs, packets and everything got changed. Its because SE was refactoring everything for the new expansion. You can read more about it here: http://gamerescape.com/2013/01/03/final ... -magazine/ page 60

Good job on getting the packets figured out guys. I see a lot of new people joining our ranks again now.
I'm going to take down my dropbox files as they are no longer needed.

Re: The New Retail Update Crashes Client Side
Forgive me as I'm not the most tech savvy guy out there, but this thread indicates there is a fix out now for the current build?
Could anyone break down the quick and dirty of what to do to fix the new client so I can get some new friends on?
