I'm updating a client to test this with now...sounds like we have another action packet change from this...and from other sources we may also have a mob update packet change.
Edit: Stickied so hopefully we don't get 300 topics about this.

I confirm. I updated ( as I play retail too) and as soon as I press the attack button it crashes.

My client is still updating >.<
Made some progress in the mean time talking with devs on another project. Should be pretty easy to nail down once I can actually test some stuff!

Is there any way that I can help with data collecting ? I mean, packet capture and such ?

0x0D packet has appeared to have been altered as well as the 0x1A action packet too.

0x0D seems to be ok in my local repo but 0x37 needs some work. I haven't looked at 0x1A yet.

I tried to run windower since the update but it crashes everytimesin mode 1.
If in the client.conf you put windower light (mode 2) It runs normaly but ingame, everytimes you approach another player your game freeze or crash systematically.
Is there a fix ? some files to delete ? or to replace to old ones to make the game run again ?
Nb I tried also to put my playonline data folder (from another of my computers) into the FFXI directory and even if it launches normaly it doesn't seems to fix the problem

Now for some bad news: I can't work on this because my ffxi client got messed up. After reinstalling I can no longer update even the initial POL viewer install. I may have to re-install windows just to get this working again.
