Azure Sky or Sinister Skies still active?

I used to play on an FFXI private server called Azure Sky. It was a while back, around 2012. I think it got shutdown and then became Sinister Skies. Does anyone know if that server is still active?

I do not have an answer for that. We do have someone relatively new on Classic server that had been on AS/SS before, though.

From what I heard, the guy running the last incarnation of it was trying to make money off it and became very disliked by a lot of people in the private server community in general, and eventually gave up on it. This is all second hand mind you - I wasn't involved in ye old drama. Also, I sincerely hope to NOT see any more drama about that server. Some contributors were deliberately holding back work because they didn't want that server to have it.
