Re: Server IP
yes, I can get it up and going but only get the darkstar server in the character creation
Re: Server IP
That is the default name for all servers when they are first created, if you go into your conf folder inside your dsp install and edit the login server file at the bottom, just change the name from darkstar to whatever you like. Reboot your server and go back into the character creation and your new server name should be listed there instead Your setup is correct just the server name shows the default Darkstar until you change it.

Re: Server IP
OK Thank You for that, now there are 2 other problems, 1 is that after the creation of a person I'm getting the FFXI-3322 error and the message is in japanese
Re: Server IP
either the name is already taken, or you didnt copy your 'data' folder from \PlayOnline\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer\ to \PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\

Re: Server IP
I highly doubt that name is taken since right now I just used my nickname just to see if I change it right, which that worked, but I'm stuck on the server IP because I don't know which to use. Do I need to use the IP address that I get from my ISP (the one that shows up in whatismyip) the IP this PC is assigned on my network (192.168.***.***) or what? And why are things showing in japanese?
Re: Server IP
if you're planning to keep the server local, with the server ip as localhost (127.0.0.1), just import the zone_settings table and leave the ip address field as it is
if not, see https://wiki.dspt.info/index.php/Buildi ... Map_Server
aand you're getting a jp error cause SE

Re: Server IP
I'm planning to keep it local for now but eventually want to let others connect
Re: Server IP
ip stuff using external ip (the one that shows on whatismyip)
https://wiki.dspt.info/index.php/Buildi ... Map_Server
forwarding ports to allow others to connect
