you use whatever you put in the zone_settings table when you set up your serverTGatlin2790 wrote:I highly doubt that name is taken since right now I just used my nickname just to see if I change it right, which that worked, but I'm stuck on the server IP because I don't know which to use. Do I need to use the IP address that I get from my ISP (the one that shows up in whatismyip) the IP this PC is assigned on my network (192.168.***.***) or what? And why are things showing in japanese?

Re: Server IP
OK, I set everything up, ffxi opened to the character select screen, so I backed out edited the name of the server like I was told, restarted my PC and went to boot the server up again now I'm getting a message stating the program can't start because libmariadb.dll is missing from my PC. All the words in the POL are also in japanese

I'm also about ready to see if anyone that knows what their doing would be willing to set up a time and possibly remotely connect and make sure everything looks like I set it up right...
Re: Server IP
libmariadb should be in the root darkstar folder

Re: Server IP
OK, I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything several times, went through the wiki guide step by step, everything appeared to go fine, when using navicat excuting the SQL files every file gave the successful message except for the zone ip sql. So I ignored it for the time being, and followed the guide the rest of the way. Got to the "Building Servers" section and everything goes fine. Then got to the section thats says verify the servers are built, check all servers are there. Navigated to c:\dsp\conf like is says and see 8 files there with green check marks on them. Did this step:
mysql_host: 127.0.0.1
mysql_port: 3306
mysql_login: root
mysql_password: root <-- change this to your password you wrote down during the MySQL install (flag)
mysql_database: dspdb
and changed the password to the password I wrote down, the check mark on the file I change the password in turns to a red x, so I opened it back up and changed the password back to: root - the check mark then turns back to green. OK, I go to run the built servers as admin, the server flashes open and immediately closes again. The: search server will stay open

Re: Server IP
You should have a log file. Please check it, and if it doesn't guide you to how to fix it, please post what it includes for diagnosis.
