Your footstep sound have ZERO impact on your actual gameplay, and are not so important to immersion as being able to see your equipment on your character like you are trying to say with your overreaching comparisons to unrelated genres. See that 20 in your own pic? max simultaneous sounds, 20. You guys can close this or stop replying because I'm giving up. There's literally no way for me to diagnose this. Reinstalling a hundred times won't change anything. Teotwawki, what if you were playing a first person shooter and you could hear everyone else's gun shooting but your own? Or what if you were playing a racing game and you heard everyone else's engine except your own? It's basically the same thing.
6 to 7 months ago when I was first getting into the private server scene I had this problem then too. The reason I chose that server to play on at the time was because I didn't have this issue there. But now that nobody plays there it's a ghost town. Nobody wants to play a MMORPG all alone in a server.
