Stuck at Downloading Data

I'm attempting to login to the Dark star server but keep getting error code ffxi-3001: no response from FFXI server. I see people logged into the server and am wondering why im unable to. Any ideas?

Try again later. I have had this problem myself. Normally what happens is the server flags you as logged in, but the client did not connect. So after a minute or two of the client kicking you off, the server will remove you. Once this happens, try logging in again and it should work.

Sometimes I have had to repeat this a few times.

I think I've triggered the last two server crashes over the last 2-3 nights, by zoning.

http://oldschool.dspt.info/roster.php only shows lobby server status, not game server. If the game server has crashed, the lobby server continues to show the last state.

I usually get FFXI-3305, though.

Is there server maintenance going on right now? Cause im not able to log in. Getting stuck at downloading data again

Probably crash. Lobby server (login + character select) can still be up even if game server crashes.

I continue to get stuck at downloading data. Its been 18 hours since i last tried to login and im still hanging up at downloading data. Any ideas whats causing my issue?

Probably server crash again.

If you ask on IRC, I think there's another GM that can remote in and restart it.

I was out on a work trip so I couldn't babysit it as closely as usual. I'm back, and with the recent fixes I am hoping it is more stable.
