Re: Solaris Guide ?
It will currently only compile on x86 platforms, so if you are on a SPARC, you are out of luck. The build scripts should work fine on Solaris, but there are bits in the code that are not portable to other architectures.

Re: Solaris Guide ?
Well testing hasn't been done on Solaris but the prereqs are the same so the generic linux guide should apply. If you run into any issues I can try to help as long as it is a build problem. If you need general help with finding or building the prereqs though I might not be much help there. The only thing I'm not sure about is if there is a pthreads library in Solaris. If not, you won't be able to build the search server.

Re: Solaris Guide ?
well i will try it next week if i got time for it ^^
if it works it would be very nice cus solars is the safest os out there i think and very stable too...
on windows its very easy and comfortable but thats not the important thing when its going to host a real server for everyone...

Re: Solaris Guide ?
Debian is a good option as well, but you might need to compile GCC from source unless 4.6 has made it into the repository if you run the "stable" version. We also know for a fact that it builds and runs on Debian.
