Character Creation -- error 3322

Post by Kongming » Thu Jan 24, 2013 8:36 pm

Hi. I recently heard about these private servers, didn't even know there was such a thing, and I just wanted to check it out.

Anyway, I followed the wiki guide to a T, and I seem to be getting stuck at the following error during character creation after entering my name, picking DS Test as the world and entering no gold world pass:

Oddly enough it's in Japanese even though I'm currently running the NA client.

Anyway, it says that this name is already in use and can't be registered. I tried a few other completely random names and I get the same error. I looked over these forums as best I can but I didn't see this issue, so I assume it's something I'm doing wrong...

The client does check to make sure the name is a minimum length and isn't spammy... Try "hotdog" or something more common. If you still have problems give us a screenshot of dsconnect-server

I tried Hotdog and it's the same. What is dsconnect-server and how do I screenshot it?

I guess I should add that I'm just trying to connect to the DarkStar Test Server.

That bit of info helps a lot since I can check those logs, I thought you were setting up a local server.

I see you try to connect and you just disconnect (when you get that error). I just successfully made a new account and new character so something with your client isn't right. I would make sure you're running it as admin, it's fully updated (your client should be on version 30121205_4 at the "Select Character" screen).

This error is due to not copying the data folder from PlayOnline to FFXI.
FFXI-3322 error/ffxi-boot or mXI error 10093
This is known as a 'anything can be wrong' error. Note: If the first solution does not fix this, it could be anything on your computer causing this error.
Make certain that you have copied the data folder at PlayOnline\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer\data to the Final Fantasy XI directory at PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI. Afterwards you should have the directory PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\data
If that is not your problem and your still getting the Accept Fail 10093 error. Make sure your drivers are installed and updated. Check through all of the other solutions on this page such as the distribution packages are downloaded.
After all these fixes and its still not working. You may need to reinstall FFXI on your computer to help solve your problem.

This was the solution, thanks!
