No idea whats wrong.

Post by XGP0001 » Sat Apr 13, 2013 5:15 pm

Hey guys I am wondering if anyone can possibly help me. I run Windows 7 and I followed the guide perfectly and all of my settings are correct I believe (Pics and Info below) Everytime I try to login to my server via mXI, ffxi-boot, or Ashita I receive the same results, it says I am logged in yet no FFXI pops up or anything after it says I login, it just does nothing.

I followed this guide http://fantasyworld.got-game.org/forum/ ... =2&start=0&

Here is my Ashita settings:
Image
Boot File says: C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ffxi-boot_mod\pol.exe
Boot Command says: --server ########## --user ######## --pass ###########

Once I click my server and click Launch this pops up bu FFXI never loads:

Here is my XML:

?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>

<setting name="language">2</setting>

<setting name="boot_file">C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ffxi-boot_mod\pol.exe</setting>
<setting name="pol_version">US</setting>
<setting name="background_resolution_x">-1</setting>
<setting name="background_resolution_y">-1</setting>
<setting name="menu_resolution_x">-1</setting>
<setting name="menu_resolution_y">-1</setting>
<setting name="boot_command">--server ########### --user ######### --pass ###########</setting>
<setting name="auto_close">1</setting>
<setting name="startup_script">Classic.txt</setting>
<setting name="show_border">1</setting>
<setting name="log_level">1</setting>
<setting name="unhook_mouse">1</setting>
<setting name="d3d_presentparams_buffercount">1</setting>

Did you boot up Ashita as admin?

I have had quite a few people look at my system/stuff for hours and have literally tried everything. One of the Ashita makers said my FFXI-boot was not working on my pc I receive no errors, run as admin everything is working FFXI just does not load.

He said this was the problem but no idea how to fix it, I am thinking maybe its something on my Dell? But I dont have crossfire.

machine is failing to launch FFXi at this part of FFXi-boot:
hr = CoCreateInstance(CLSID_FFXiEntry, NULL, 0x17, IID_FFXiEntry, (void**)&ffxi);

The CoCreateInstance call never returns.

I TeamViewered into his machine and debugged ffxi-boot to find what was wrong.
As he said above, the CoCreateInstance for creating FFXi never returns, it just hangs there.

I'm not sure what would cause that to happen though.
- I double checked that his stuff was updated.
- All the DLLs are registered properly.
- His registry stuff is all valid.

So it's something to do with creating the instance of FFXI that is not wanting to work properly. I didn't have src / compiler available on his system to test further though.

Do you have a retail account to log in to, to see if the client itself works ok? (directed to OP)
