FFXI-3101 - Disconnecting from Lobby Server

After successfully creating the character, when I attempt to select it to log in, it goes to the normal Gustaberg background while it 'loads' up.. The progress bar overlay just sits on "Disconnecting from Lobby Server" until eventually it gives a protocol timeout FFXI-3101.

I've gone over the configuration SEVERAL times, this is not my first DS setup and I'm at an utter loss as to what's going on.. I've attached a screenshot showing the console windows as well as zone_settings in navicat.

UAC is disabled, Firewall is disabled, it's built, run/hosted and played all on the same machine.

I have all the prereqs and can connect just dandily to a number of other public servers.

(Also, I've dumped and re-imported the DB to no avail.)

I ran into similar issues. Are you running the client as administrator first?

Copy the data folder from Playonline to Final Fantasy XI directories.

Everything on his system is setup properly to connect to the server, for whatever reason, 90% of the time his system just refuses to connect to the game server. It is not an issue with the data folder or permissions etc.
