Here are some gotchas that new players might want to know about.
Client Updates
* Client updates have the chance to cause some doors/gates (esp. if event triggered) to no longer work until the server is updated. Some cutscenes can be affected, too. Check for threads under Troubleshooting for more info.
Dualboxing/Multiboxing
* Use different character slots for alts on different accounts (see: Re: Dual boxing overwrites my macros and settings). Characters on the same slot share settings, including macros.
* Avoid character slots with a position divisible by 5. Put a filler character in those slots, if needed.
* Avoid zoning multiple characters at the same time. This can cause disconnections (stuck at black "downloading data..." screen) or characters can swap windows (but have the original settings for the window, such as macros). This is mostly unavoidable for event triggered zoning, though (teleport/escape/dynamis ending).

Zoning
* Occasionally, zoning will put you at a random spot in the zone you tried to leave. Usually a spot off the normal paths that keeps you from moving (stuck running in place). Keep a warp item on your character at all times for this.
Conquest Supply Runs
* Avoid doing runs on Sunday/Monday (eastern time). They tend to fail as if conquest had retallied.
Please add others that you know about, or if any have been fixed or have workarounds.
Mods: Please move this if another category is more appropriate.

Re: New Players / Gotcha List
As a server host, I just set @homepoint command to access 0, so everyone can use it.
Re: New Players / Gotcha List
the items that you mention also happens if you have someone playing in the same house off the same ip as you, the server gets confused about who is who, if you watch what your doing then your fine.
also on this note don't log in at the same time, give it a min or two between logins/log out's.
