From your announcement I think you misunderstood the last bit of context in this thread. It got redirected to avatar sizes.

In my opinion, avatars should be no bigger than: 150x150

As for for signatures, there is no reason at all to include images in them on this forum so I'd just disable images in signatures altogether.
