This update sounds awesome as usual, but as no one else posted about it before, I might be the only one with this small (configuration?) issue.
So I just dropped the new pol.exe (mod 3) over the old one (mod 2b, which works perfectly) in my Ashita folder, however, it crashes on launch.
I just went with...
"<setting name="boot_command">--hairpin --server 192.168.1.202 --user xxx --pass xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx</setting>", as the settings for Ashita as before. Also tried adding the --lang US, but it didn't help, still crashes as well.
If I launch it with the "--hairpin --server 192.168.1.202" parameters it allows me to chose to login, but as I input my password... puff! It crashes as always.
Regarding FFXI-Boot Mod 3
Re: Regarding FFXI-Boot Mod 3
The IP address you're using is the internal IP, which is not used with the hairpin command. If you want to hairpin, use the external IP address from whatismyip.com
Re: Regarding FFXI-Boot Mod 3
The server is somewhere else on my internal network*, so that is exactly where i want to connect to. Having --hairpin on allows me to stay connected to the server itself even if I lose my internet connection briefly, which happens around once every 48 hours.Suragata wrote:The IP address you're using is the internal IP, which is not used with the hairpin command. Anyway, I still appreciate the feedback! However the setup works as is beautifully with mod2b; removing --hairpin doesn't help with mod3, it still crashes.
*Well, actually the server is in the same machine, on VirtualBox, bridging the connection. This allows me to easily move the server to the main server machine when ready, while still keeping it separate from my main working environment and allowing other players to join the server.
