NPCs display no text, have to @release to move away

Post by azharahs » Thu Jun 25, 2015 9:37 pm

I just set up my darkstar server (running on Ubuntu 12.04 x64) from a git pull last night, following the instructions on the wiki, and I have all three server programs running. I'm running the "Ultimate Collection" client with all expansions up to and including Seekers, and I've patched it and am able to connect, and get in game without issue.

However, whenever I interact with any NPC game object such as a Home Point, no dialog is displayed, and i cannot move my character at all. The only way to regain control is to use the GM command @release. It's as though the dialog display is invisible.

I've tried rebuilding my database, and repairing my client following the repair directions on these forums (delete 0.dat and then check files from POL).

What am I doing wrong?

I have the same issue with my fresh client install. It's because of the 6/25/15 (today) update patch for retail. Until the devs sort out a rollback patch or update the source unfortunately there's nothing you can do.

Ahh, I see.

Thanks for the info! I'll wait for an update.
